Customer Service Representative

Position Summary:  The Johnson County Customer Service Representative performs a variety of responsibilities including processing daily lockbox payment activity, customer loan payments and deposits, completing teller transactions including paying out and receiving cash, and performing various administrative support duties.  This professional provides excellent customer service while assisting customers with account or product inquiries, in person or by phone.

Essential Functions:

  • Process daily lockbox activity.   
  • Process customer loan payments and deposits, and perform teller transactions including paying out and receiving cash. 
  • Assist commercial and private banking customers in opening and transitioning new business or personal accounts and bank products. 
  • Assist with insufficient fund items (NSF) or overdrawn accounts. 
  • Provide excellent customer service when assisting customers with account or product inquiries in person or by phone. 
  • Perform various administrative support functions, such as filing, organizing and scanning documents, pulling credit reports and ordering office supplies as well as maintenance support functions, such as repairs and ATM care.
  • Maintain current knowledge of bank’s products and services.
  • Acquire general knowledge of Deposit Services, Electronic Banking and Image Services Departments for effective problem resolution. 
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customer in person, on the phone, via email, and through written correspondence. Answer questions and refer inquiries when necessary.
  • Process payments: review and process non-sufficient funds (NSF), non-posts, loan disbursements, participation transactions, draw requests, payoff calculations, and wires.
  • Serve as back-up to other loan operation assistants as needed.
  • The Bonner Springs branch assists with opening new accounts and certificate of deposits by phone or email when out of the office.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training and follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position. 
  • Perform other job related duties or special projects as assigned.

  • Previous banking experience preferred. 
  • Basic math skills and proficient computer skills.

  • Indoor work – not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards.
  • Some sedentary work and occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 45 pounds.
