Retail Loan Processing Assistant

Position Summary

The Retail Loan Processing Assistant is responsible for all processing steps from origination through closing, and the generation of initial and closing documents.  This position is responsible for a pipeline that includes a variety of real estate secured loan types (Construction, First Lien Mortgage, Subordinate Financing, Home Equity etc.)

Essential Functions:

  • Process and close real estate secured loans which include a variety of loan types, such as Construction, First Lien Mortgage, Subordinate Financing, Home Equity loans and more.  
  • Understand and anticipate all requirements of the real estate loan cycle from beginning to end. 
  • Perform pre-closing reviews to ensure loans meet all bank policy requirements, regulatory compliance guidelines, and customer service standards. 
  • Provide a high standard of customer service to both internal and external customers in person and by telephone.  
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training and follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Performs other job related duties or special projects as assigned. 
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year real estate loan processing preferred.     
  • Minimum of 2 years banking experience preferred. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and in working with other financial software.

Working Environment:

  • Indoor work – not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards. 
  • Some sedentary work and occasional lifting and/or carrying up to ten pounds.
